re:MADE Stores
re:MADE Stores
A re:MADE store is a social enterprise non-profit creating community, saving things from the landfill and training makers and entrepreneurs. Our mission: “Create change in community, through small business start-ups. A fun resale environment, repurposing resources, renewing lives and responding to community needs.” Our vision: “Doing Life. Better Together.”
Mission and vision are achieved by accepting donations at a retail store. Volunteers then get creative through repurposing and transforming items. Creating purpose through repurposing.
These rescued items are used in a variety of ways to benefit the local community:
Outdated jeans are turned into rugs, aprons, jewelry, stuffed toy whales; old diesel parts become lamps and tables; pallet wood becomes a seat for a broken chair, sweaters are turned into pillows.
Creativity breeds creativity and amazing things happen when you have volunteers working together.
Doing Life. Better Together.
Mission and vision are achieved by accepting donations at a retail store. Volunteers then get creative through repurposing and transforming items. Creating purpose through repurposing.
These rescued items are used in a variety of ways to benefit the local community:
- Resale. Innovative and environmentally-friendly items are available for sale in our retail store with home goods that have been cleaned, repaired, repainted or repurposed by our volunteers.
- Classes. We teach students fun new skills that can often be used to repurpose items they have in their own homes - preventing more from going to the landfill.
- Community. People come together for a variety of reasons doing life better together. Some people volunteer to make new friends, some want to learn and practice new techniques, and some just to participate in the creative environment and share ideas.
- Partnering. We engage and work with organizations and nonprofits around the state that we can provide tangible goods for the people they are working with. Some examples include clothing for the homeless, business attire for those getting jobs, household furnishings for those moving into a home, and baby supplies for pregnant young women.
- Empowering. We are a small business incubator training small business owners, makers, and entrepreneurs who earn income from their items sold at re:MADE. The resources we have and the coaching we provide allow people to create jobs for themselves.
